Sherry Ritchot
I was called to the Manitoba Bar and appointed a Notary Public for the Province of Manitoba in 2000, practising law in the areas of family, civil and criminal litigation. I have more than 10 years of experience at the Manitoba Bar. I earned my degrees from the University of Manitoba, completing the Bachelor of Laws in 1999 and the Bachelor of Arts in 1997 with Political Science Major and Sociology Minor. I completed the multi-disciplinary training for Collaborative Practice Manitoba in 2006, and am currently a member of both the Collaborative Practice Manitoba and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. I have appeared at every level of court in Manitoba, including advocacy on First Nations. I have experience participating in Case Conferences, Judicial Bail Committees, Sentencing Conferences, YCJA Reviews and Applications, and matters referred to traditional Aboriginal Circles.
I currently serve on the Board for the Winnipeg Condominium Corporation No. 230, as the representative for Nunavut, Saskatchewan and Manitoba for the Discipline Committee for Agility in Canada, and as a Member of the Trial Committee, for Agility in Manitoba specifically the assistant to the Trial Secretary for the North American Dog Agility Council. I previously have been a volunteer representative for St. John Ambulance and Heritage Lodge Personal Care Home. I have actively participated in the sport of Agility since 2007 in trials, classes, and public education at various community events.
