Gloria Mendelson
Gloria Mendelson has been practicing family law since 1989 which comprises the vast majority of her cases. She also practices in the areas of simple wills and estates and employment including human rights.
Gloria has a wealth of practical experience in investigation, negotiations, and advocacy. Prior to entering the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba, Gloria was employed as Chief Enforcement Officer for the Manitoba Human Rights Commission. She was elected for two terms as a School Trustee on the Winnipeg School Board. Later, while starting up her law practice she was elected to the City of Winnipeg Council where she served one term.
Gloria is a founding member of Collaborative Practice Manitoba (CPM) having joined at inception. She served on the CPM Board for many years including as Co-Chair. She has participated in many of the specialized educational programs and seminars offered by CPM which focused on out of court conflict resolution techniques such as mediation and interest based negotiation.
Gloria holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manitoba. She is a member in good standing of The Law Society of Manitoba and of the Manitoba Bar Association and is currently Past Chair of the General Practitioners Section.
